Man it’s been weeks. I know I know, bad form. Well. A) I’ve been teaching, and you can follow the progress on a whole different blog (both me and my class) allthewayover here – The Frame. You know I’ve been teaching, right? F-building, at CCA, and here, my course, Urban Mobility 1. It’s been a huge amount of energy and time, and though I’ve still of course been working in the shop, I havn’t quite had the time and energy to give to doing even more writing about building and making.
So Imma drop this huge image load on you, talk all about it right here, and then let you just cruise through the beautiful images. The brazing is coming along swimmingly. Smooth, minimal cleaning up, good heating. I’m working on some new designs and customizations for my raw machines. This track machine has a reoccurring pattern of 3 circles. Next is a picture of your’s truly in my new apron which I sewed on a lazy afternoon. Projects that involve making that don’t necessarily involve bicycles are good for the soul.
2 clients picke up full builds today – Gene of Orange Photography and Victor of Archive Bags. The machines came out totally rad. Geoffrey aka DJ Geoffy Jeph and I did a photo shoot yesterday, and I’m sure we’ll see the full spreads soon, but these are teasers on location. I got some new waterjet brass logos and frame “decals” for raw machines. I’m going to transition towards a lot more raw bicycles, showing hte hand of the maker, and using the brazed on brass. It’s got the cafe racer / industrial / raw / graceful and powerful look that I’m seeking, and I’d like to see more of these out there. So there’s a stack of them, plus the drop outs for upcoming projects.
On the horizon, a bunch of builds in the queue, more adding up. Some secret projects in the works. I don’t have much of my usual philosophical ramblings to add today, but I promise (again) I won’t let you go this long I do I do I do promise. I’ll leave you with the following.
Continued improvement demands critical self reflection, analysis, and repetition.
Progress is process.
Process is progress.
See the light.
Be the light.
